Over the past year, Local Link has been working extremely hard being the scenes and last week we got the phone call to say that we have been nominated for not one, but FIVE categories in the Business Growth Awards 2018! Here is the low down on what we have been nominated for:

Brand Impact

For the second year running, Local Link has been shortlisted of the Brand Impact Award. Brand Impact recognises businesses who are a household name in their field. Local Link has been growing over the past year with more involvement in local communities and is now becoming a big name in South Wales.

Employee of the Year

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Our very own Alice Line has been Local Link’s Marketing Manager for nearly three years now. She is Gemma’s right hand lady and is the backbone of the business – always on hand to make sure that the magazine is presented in the best way possible. From finances to design, the business cannot run without her!

Entrepreneur of the Year

This award recognises business owners who have gone above and beyond to ensure that their business grows and is a success. Managing Director, Gemma Davies has put her heart into Local Link Magazine. Over the past year, the magazine has been going from strength to strength, with new services and sections being added to the business. Gemma also juggles running Local Link Magazine with raising her 3 children and she is doing an amazing job!

Economic Contribution

Being nominated for this award means that Local Link is recognised as a company that brings money into South Wales. Specifically, we allow local communities to thrive, connecting local businesses to their local customers in improving our services throughout South Wales rather than further abroad.

People Development

Local Link is being recognised for it’s brilliant people development. Not only has Gemma grown the magazine, she has also developed her employees. With extensive on the job training and giving employees the flexibility to try new projects, employees of Local Link Magazine are more developed than employees in larger companies. Gemma also takes on work experience workers from local universities and schools so pupils can grow their skills!

We’d like to thank all of our clients and readers for supporting us this year!

Keep an eye on our social media platforms for any further information. Fingers crossed for the ceremony which will be in March 2018!
