On Thursday 21st September, Local Link hosted a networking event for mums and women in business at the Beirkeller in Cardiff.
The event saw key speaker Angela Durrant from Talkskills, give an inspiring talk on confidence, public speaking and captivating an audience. A talk with a twist, as the audience was up, engaged and laughing in one of the liveliest networking events we had been to. By the end of the event, two people walked away with a FREE 90-minute vocal makeover from Angela herself. All attendees also received free audio lessons on vocal confidence!
We then followed Angela with a short presentation on the magazine and the big plans that we have for the future. Safe to say, we didn’t have the great vocal skills of Angela Durrant – it was hard to follow a great speaker like her!
As well as the talk, we also had Rebecca Hocking from RH cakes, displaying some of her beautiful cupcakes. They were delicious and made an excellent topic of conversation as Rebecca had been up since 5:30am that morning baking!
We also had Sloanne products displaying their beautiful gin, candles and hampers as well as Fran Toner with her Younique makeup products. They both went down a hit with guests trying and discussing the products throughout the day.
Overall, the day was a big hit! The conversation flowed as easily as the prosecco and everyone made lots of great connections. There was even an open mic session where everyone put their new vocal confidence skills to good use!
